My name is Gianna Larocco and recently my grandma Joy Wentz has been troubled with mental health from the passing of her husband, my grandfather, Hank Wentz. We found out that my grandmother has been talking to a man online because she has been so lonely… and then we found out that she had been giving the little money she had left to this man. He groomed and manipulated her to give the last dollars she had. Bills started racking up quickly and before she knew it she was in debt and was going to get evicted from the last thing she had, her home. She felt she had nothing left for her and attempted to end her life. We found her from a wellness check and she got rushed to the hospital. Currently she is hospitalized for the next few weeks. Right now we are in a tough position because we are unable to get her into a nursing home because of how much debt she is now in. Any funds will go straight towards my grandmother (controlled by my mother). My goal is to help her get back on her feet and spread awareness on elder mental health. She has never been the person to go to others for help. She has always been the one to help others. So let’s help her through this time, thank you.
