BAJANA ALWAYS HYDRATED!

My name is Andy Bajaña, I'm from NYC and I'm an avid fan of the beautiful game. In the Autumn of 2021, I discovered a football team located in a village that shared the same name as myself: Bajana. When I learned they had a football team, I began donating money for equipment, uniforms, and other necessities.

Bajana is a village located in the African country of The Gambia. They have a population of roughly 1,000 villagers. In Bajana, there are no pubs or nightclubs. Their only forms of entertainment are a school, a mosque, and a football pitch made of sand. The villagers have very few materialistic items, but they are still some of the happiest people in the world. Why? Because they have LIFE, one of the most underappreciated free gifts from Mother Earth.

When I visited the village for the first time in January of 2022, I noticed a massive problem that I had no control over: There was no running water in anybody's house. Villagers have to walk miles to collect water from the local well, and due to lack of solar panels, villagers are unable to access water once the sun goes down.
I never thought I'd be in a position where I'd be able to help, but Alhamdulillah, life has been good to me. However, a task like this is very expensive and I could use all the help I can get.

Any donation would be appreciated. As a man from The Bajana Village says in the Bajana Always Ready movie (at exactly 12:09), "You can have 5 Dalasi, and yet, there is someone that doesn't even have 1 Dalasi that you can help."

Here is a list of what the expenses will be used for:

$1.00USD = D72.50 Dalasi

  • Solar panels 410W(D8,000) x 12 = D96,000
  • Solar pump 220W = D40,000
  • .20m of 4mm cable (D250 per meter) x 20 = D5000
  • Angle Bars 40x40x3mm (D850 per bar) x 6 = D5,100
  • Angle Bars 35x35x3mm (D800 per bar) x 4 = D3200
  • 3 pcs pipes 40x40x1.25 (D750) x 3 = D3200
  • Labor service for electrician = D30,000
  • Labor service for plumber = D20,000

Grand total: D201,550 = $2,780.00USD
There will also be additional charges of over $100+ due to service fees charged by Western Union to send the money. Gofundme also takes a portion of the total amount raised.
If this fundraiser raises over $3,000, any leftover proceeds will go to the Bajana Always Ready Football Club.
