Baird Survival Bags for the homeless

Baird Survival Bags is back for its fourth official year. Thanks to all of you amazing people I want to double our numbers this year! 

What is Baird Survival Bags?

Every winter we fundraise money and items to build Survival Backpacks for the homeless in Colorado. These backpacks contain temporary support to help them get through the colder months of the year. The backpacks cost $30 to build and contain the following.

- Backpack
- Tooth brush and paste 
-Floss
- Tissues
- Q-tips
- Fleece blanket
- Hat and gloves
- Socks
- Chapstick
- Flashlight
- Notebook and pen
- Food
- Water and water bottle
- First aid kit
- Book to success

The most important item in this backpack is the book The Road To Success.

Its a book full of local recourse's to help get them the help that they need. Its not easy to ask for help at times and we hope to eliminate that anxiety with this book. Giving them to recourse's of food kitchens, mental and physical help, how to get a social security card and I.D. for free, list or temporary work places, shelters and so on. 

All it takes is one bad day to end up homeless at times. It is a trying lifestyle and most homeless people we speak to on this journey want help and want to get back to the work force. This is a way to give them a hand up to help get them on this path.

We have a big build party before the holidays then spread them throughout the Denver metro area. Its a lot of fun and does a lot of good. Your donations go a very long way. Thank you for the continued support in my mission. Have a great day!
