Bailey's Healthy Pregnancy

Donation protected

I don't know Bailey. I don't know where she lives, works, or goes to school. I don't know where she grew up. I don't know her favorite food or color or place to go on Saturday evening. I don't know what makes her cry, or how she takes her coffee.

But, like many of you, I know that she is pregnant. And I know that her pregnancy has been difficult. I know that Bailey says she is in pain. I know that, on the whole, she doesn't feel remotely equipped to carry a baby to full-term. I know that she started a GoFundMe page to help her raise the funds to have an abortion.

For starters, I want to say that my heart goes out to Bailey. Pregnancy is hard. And scary. And completely life-altering. (I had a first pregnancy that was hard and scary, and it turned out to be completely life-altering!) There's no condemnation here.

But I DO want to present Bailey with options. I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He has transformed my life. Jesus has "...lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." And the result is that I want to extend His compassion to someone in need. To two people in need, actually. To Bailey and her baby.

My goal in starting this page is to offer Bailey a compelling reason to reconsider having an abortion. At the end of the day, she may still choose to terminate her pregnancy. But I wonder...

Bailey, if we stripped away all of the pain, anxiety, and difficulty of this pregnancy (as much as we are able), would you still choose an abortion? Or, if you could receive the care you need, would you consider carrying and delivering this child?

I'm not proposing that you keep this child. Alternatively, I'm not proposing that you give this child up for adoption. I'm simply asking that, if every obstacle were cleared from your path, that you consider delivering this child into the world. If you choose to continue with your pregnancy, I'm confident that help and support will come out of the woodwork.

If Bailey chooses to accept this kind of aid, there would be plenty of details to be sorted out. I'm not naive, and I don't think throwing money at someone will put an end to all their struggles. But perhaps, by committing to help Bailey financially and thus enabling her to have a comfortable, healthy pregnancy, labor, and delivery, we can help her to make a healthier choice for herself and for her child.

So, if you know Bailey, please show her this page. (Bailey, I'd love to get in touch with you!) And if you are passionate about helping give her an option, please donate.

NOTE: If Bailey declines to receive these funds, all of these proceeds will be donated to Life Network in Colorado Springs.

Thanks, all!
