On July 19th my world came crashing down, my daughter was rushed to the hospital due to days of immobility and an abscess on her forehead. After MRI’s and CT scans, The doctors informed us that she contracted a fungus that was growing rapidly on her brain. We were transferred to a children’s hospital where she is now receiving a more customized care plan.

Bailey has undergone two intense surgeries due to a total of 4 different bacterias attacking her brain. The bacterias has now grown and there are now tiny holes in her brain and she’s been having seizures daily “some seizures are lasting as long as 2 hours straight” She is awaiting clearance for her third surgery (craniotomy) on her brain (which is also the most severe). Doctors are uncertain of the cause and the full diagnosis. They’ve never seen anything like it before.

So far there has been a great amount of brain damage, her motor skills has resorted back to that of a baby or small child resulting in her needing 24 hour care. She’s unable to walk alone and needs assistance performing basic tasks like eating, brushing her teeth, and showering.

Bailey will need a 24 hour nurse, undergo verbal/ physical therapy, occupational therapy, mental counseling, there are a number of hospital bills. Aside from that our son is 4 and is in need of care, he is unable to be here with us due to the highly contagious infection. We are at baileys bedside 24/7 and are unable to work at the moment. As a family we will need your support, The road to recovery will be a journey and through it all we will continue to have faith in the man above.
