Greetings Sorors,
Protests around the world have erupted in response to the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, David McAtee, and many more unarmed Black people at the hands of police. Protests in all 50 states have resulted in thousands of protestors being wrongfully arrested, tear gassed, and scrutinized by the police.
As you know, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is committed to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Showing up in numbers is something we’ve done since our first public service act. In 2020, we are still fighting for the same rights that our founders fought for in 1913. Which is why I’m calling on all Alpha Mu initiates to come together and support protesters and communities impacted by police violence. Over the weekend, bail funds have been created as an immediate way to provide relief to activists in jail. With your help we can come together and make a large donation to three Bail Funds in North Carolina including, Greensboro Mutual Aid and Bail Fund, Charlotte Uprising, and the Freedom Fighter Bail Fund.
