We from 'Busua Beach Community Caretakers' are a group of young dedicated people from a small village named 'Busua' near Takoradi, Ghana.
We made it our mission, to create awareness about the plastic pollution that increases worldwide, and also affects us in Busua very much.
All of us use a lot of plastic in our daily life and often we don't dispose of it correctly, which causes a lot of pollution in the sea, on the beaches and at the streets and homes in our communities. It is obvious that this pollution affects nature and the quality of life for us as humans as well as for the animals.
We, the youth of Busua, do not want to look away anymore and continue to destroy our beautiful village.
That’s why B.B.C.C. decided to make a change NOW!
We have started in our community by collecting plastic and garbage on a regular basis and to dispose of it correctly. We teach the community and especially the children about the consequences of pollution and how to prevent it.
Moreover we clean and try to improve the drainage system to lower the risk of diseases and to keep our surroundings nice and clean.
Our goal for the longer term is to create a better waste gathering/ waste disposal system that the community can use easily, to dispose of plastic and any kind of trash correctly. As well as to start garbage separation, so that part of the plastic can be recycled.
B.B.C.C wants the people to realise the impact the pollution has on our lives and the world. We want to inspire and motivate people to fight against it and make a change.
For the good of all!
Call for Donations
With your help we were able to register BBCC as an official NGO, we want to thank everybody who made
But for BBCC being able to continue their work, cleaning the beach and community, we still need your help. Apart from fighting against plastic, BBCC is also trying to support and help the community in the fight against corona virus. The virus is affecting everybody’s life in Busua. We from BBCC made it to our mission to help fight COVID-19 by donating sanitizer, gloves, tissues, face masks, thermometer guns, etc. to the community. Therefor we need your support!
Let us unite and fight together against the virus.
B.B.C.C. would like to continue their great work, but to work as an official NGO we need to get registered, which costs quite a lot in Ghana. Without that registration our work is quite limited, that's why we call on you to help us. The registration costs 1.000€.
After we have been registered it is easier for us to extend our work and we will have the opportunity to work together with companies or volunteers.
We also urgently need new equipment, like brooms, shovels, barrows and dustbins (300€). That is why we set our goal to 1.300€.
To make our dream of a clean Busua and hopefully, one day, a clean Ghana true, we need your help!
We would be really grateful, if you want to support us. Any donation helps us.
