Help Bacton Towers Action fight for a better outcome

Bacton Towers Action is a group of residents in Gospel Oak and Haverstock Wards (London Borough of Camden) campaigning for a better outcome for the redevelopment of Bacton Low-Rise Estate.
The current proposal is twice as high and dense as recommended by Camden's planners and will cause harm to people, the community and the environment.
Camden Council started redevelopment of Bacton Low-Rise Estate, gaining planning permission in 2013 for 191 additional homes in buildings ranged from 2-8 storeys. Phase 1 was built delivering 67 new homes. However, the Council had difficulty in getting a contractor to build Phase 2, and instead entered into a private agreement with a developer.
Mount Anvil Ltd have now submitted an initial planning application (EIA Scoping Opinon 2024/5383/P) for the 2nd phase, with buildings up to 23-26 storeys high. Of the 447-460 homes proposed, 75% are for private sale.
Bacton Towers Action support building additional council homes. We do not support the building of large numbers of private homes in order to provide developer profit. We demand a return to direct delivery with a better mix of homes, to better meet the needs of local people.
We need your help to pay for leaflets and venue hire so that we can involve everyone in the area and mobilise a large number of people in our efforts to get Camden to see sense, and revert to their original proposals. A small amount such as £5 will be very helpful.
Thank you.
