Hi!
I'm an emerging artist and printmaker from Columbus, Ohio. I've been an artist for about five years now and have participated in several exhibitions around the state. I'm also a member of Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative where I've done most of my work.
After three years of applying, I finally got accepted to my first artist residency at The Vermont Studio Center! My residency runs from 8/24-9/4 and it feels like that day couldn't get here fast enough. My artistic goals for time there is to work on two or three 18"x24" woodcut prints that will be incorporated into a larger body of work for a future solo exhibition. As someone who works full-time (in a non-art related field) having two-weeks to devote to my art is an opportunity that doesn't come often--but I will need your help. Residencies often cost money to attend and this one is no different. As of now, I need to come up with $1,200 by July 10th to fully pay for my residency. This money will cover studio access, a place to stay, and my meals for the week along with the more intangible parts of the residency like giving an artist a chance to spread her wings.
In this uncertain world, we need artists now more than ever. So are you in?
