Backhoe Santa raising money for the Salvation Army

My name is Sam, I’m a heavy equipment operator in Boston, MA. Last year I started a campaign called “Backhoe Santa” where I have raised money for the Salvation Army around Christmas time. I had pitched an idea to my employer Mirra company to allow me to dress up as Santa and ride around in Backhoe to visit friends & businesses around Boston area to collect donations for the Salvation Army. Mirra again has shown their support in my efforts and allowed me to run the campaign again!
Last year the campaign caught the eye of NBC and our story was played over regional news for a few days leading up to Christmas. We raised over $5,000 last year and this year we are hoping to double that and raise $10,000. The funds will be split and donated to the Salvation Army Kroc center in Dorchester, MA and the center in Manchester, NH.
