Here's the short version: after a whirlwind year and a half battling breast cancer and getting married, all we want is to start our family. Because of my medication, I cannot even attempt to carry a baby for at least five years. We have been blessed to have found a surrogate through an agency but on top of all of my other medical bills, it is incredibly costly. Agency fee? 15,000. Surrogate fee? 30,000. Lawyer fees, psych evals, etc? 10,000. Medical expenses, to be determined, but thus far for fertility related costs, 20,000. But getting to hold our baby in our arms? Priceless. We have had so much love and support over the past year and a half (#jstrong) and it is all of you who made us feel comfortable asking for help to bring Baby Lasko into the world.
