Dear Family, Friends & Kind Hearts,

This is one of the hardest letters we’ve ever had to write...not because we’re ashamed of our story, but because putting it into words means reliving a journey filled with hope, heartbreak and the kind of love that only grows stronger through struggle.

A little over two years ago, Shannon was diagnosed with premature menopause. Hearing those words felt like time stopped...as if the future we’d always pictured for ourselves suddenly started slipping away. It’s a diagnosis that not only challenges your body, but your heart. It changes how you see everything: your dreams, your plans, your identity. Still, we refused to give up. We began exploring IVF and egg donation...doing every possible test, every procedure, every recommended treatment to give ourselves the best chance at becoming parents. We endured months of hormone injections, blood tests and ultrasounds - trying to coax the body to respond, to prepare for the chance that we could still create the family we’ve always dreamed of. We worked with 3+ donors with no success.

We did everything:

-All the medical tests to optimize our health.

-The endless appointments, scans and medications that came with each IVF cycle.

-Even specialty “booster” injections & tests designed to increase success rates — anything that might improve the odds at any cost.

-Each step came with new hope and new heartbreak. And with each setback, we reminded ourselves that love, not biology, is what builds a family.

To date, we’ve invested over $90,000+ into this dream. Every penny, every shot, every sleepless night was driven by one thing: the deep desire to hold a child of our own...to see Shawn’s contagious smile reflected in tiny eyes, to watch our parents become grandparents, to have sisters and brothers be aunts & uncles...to feel our home filled with laughter and love.

But IVF is unpredictable. It is a hope that isn't always fulfilled. It has tested us in every possible way (ugh) emotionally, physically and financially. As strong as we are together, we’ve reached a point where we can’t do this alone anymore. And that’s why we’re here....humbly asking for help.

Opening our hearts so publicly isn’t easy. We never imagined sharing something so personal with the world. But what we’ve learned is that family isn’t just the one you’re born into, it’s the people who show up when you need them most.

We believe with everything in us that our story isn’t over yet. Hope is still alive and one day, we’ll look back on this season of struggle and see that it was simply the road (or detour) leading us to the child who was meant to be ours.
