Adoption Journey for Baby Burton
Donation protected

Shawn and Hannah were married on a muggy spring day in 2013, in a Doctor Who themed wedding that began at dusk and ended with dancing under the stars. They started their journey to have children shortly following the reception.
After a year and a half of trying to conceive on their own and an additional year and a half of various fertility treatments, they were told last winter that the next step would be costly and uncertain IVF. Faced with this prospect they decided instead to purchase a house and begin looking into fostering and adoption, so they could grow their family with children who were in need of two loving parents, a temperamental cat, an extensive British literature collection, and a home.
Through the adoption agency Upbring Shawn and Hannah applied for and were placed on a list of 22 families who were waiting to be selected as one of the five families that Upbring works with to be considered for their domestic infant adoption program in Texas. They were notified several months later that one of the five families had dropped out and they had been selected to take their place! They are attending their first training on December 11th.
Shawn works full time for Dell doing something extremely complex and computer related. Hannah works part time for Barnes and Noble as a barista, part time as an Etsy seller . and is in school part time for Paralegal Studies. Upbring bases their infant adoption fees on a sliding scale to make it more affordable for families. They are currently paying to have their house fully baby-proofed in preparation for the upcoming home study.
All proceeds from this GoFundMe page and Hannah's Etsy sales will go towards paying the first 1/3rd of the estimated adoption fee.
