After almost 2 years together, Jason and I were married in November 2013. I have a 6 year old daughter, Ava, from a previous relationship who was soon adopted by Jason. We knew right away we wanted to add to what we call "the best family ever"! Jason and I started trying to conceive right away. We learned very early on that something wasn't right, but didn't know what. After 15 months, we tried Clomid to induce ovulation, since by that time it was determined I was not ovulating on my own. After 3 months of Clomid and still no pregnancy, we were referred to a reproductive endocrinologist. After conducting an HSG x-ray, it was discovered that both of my fallopian tubes were blocked and filled with toxic fluid. We were told that a laparoscopy needed to be conducted to confirm the findings of the x-ray and possilbiy clip my tubes at that time. It took me a couple of months and 3 other opinions to work up the courage to undergo the laparscopy. When I woke up from the surgery, I learned that both tubes had to be clipped and IVF was our only option to have a baby. It was much harder to accept this fate than I anticipated, but our family cannot end this journey without a baby to show for it. Our daughter wants to be a big sister so badly- infertility is painful for all of us.
Our insurance does not cover any of IVF and it is very expensive. If you have it in your heart to donate to our little family, we are more than happy to keep you updated as things progress. We will share announcements, ultrasound pictures, name choices, and pictures as baby Bockskopf grows. From the bottom of our hearts, we sincerly thank you!
