The past week has been one giant emotional roller coaster for our family. Our daughter was born on August 18th and was only home for 5 days before we had to be rushed to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital due to her jaundice levels being critical. Once we arrived, they placed her in NICU and placed a central line into her belly button to help pull the jaundice from her body. By Friday, August 27th, her levels became normal and we were discussing her coming back home by the weekend. By Friday evening, she had grown extremely sick to the point where she needed several platelet transfusions, oxygen to help her breath, IVs, a feeding tube and so much more. We learned recently that she had contracted MRSA from the central line that they had placed in her belly button. She has since been placed on a ventilator and a breathing tube. They removed her feeding tube and have her on fluids. She has had several more platelet transfusions along with a lumbar puncture and tons of blood work. As of right now, they have her on antibiotics specifically to fight the MRSA infection but its a waiting game at this point to determine whether or not the antibiotics are working like they are supposed to. Are hopes are high that she will pull through and we've been praying for a miracle that she can make a full recovery and come back home. Right now its touch and go. I tested positive for covid so I havent been able to be at the hospital with her which has made this all more the difficult to bare. At this point, anything will help so that we are able to pay our bills so my husband can be home from work during this difficult time as he is the bread winner in our family. We don't like asking for help but we are at a point to where we could use anything to help our family. Please keep praying for her to stay strong and make a full recovery.
