For Christmas we received such wonderful news that Charlene and Mike learned the wonderful news they were expecting twins.
This beautiful couple excited to start a new family didn’t know that a congenital defect in Charli’s womb would not have room for two. At 20weeks Charli’s water broke and she was rushed to hospital. They managed to prevent an early birth but the doctors had not picked up on her abnormality.
Charli was transferred to Anschutz and has remained there all this time 7+ weeks.
Charli again went into early labor on May 26th but the baby monitoring failed partly due to her abnormality and didn’t consider her in labor until 48hours after and it was too late. Jude crowning was born naturally and Jack was breech and delivered by cesarian.
Jack is doing well but Jude’ who’s water initially broke early passed away the next day.
Mike and Charli had to say goodbye to their sweet son Jude soon after he was born.
He will be forever loved and remembered.
From the moment Mike and Charli knew they were pregnant, they were both excited and overwhelmed to welcome their boys into this world. Their commitment to one another and to their new family, has been solid and beautiful to behold. Mike is hard working and dutifully traveled from Boulder to Aurora while working to provide the love and support to his beloved.
There is no consolation for this loss. This grieving process will be increasingly difficult and complicated due to medical bills, funeral costs, and related expenses that they are burdened with. Jack has to remain at Anschutz for another 13weeks as the cost to transfer him to Boulder is out of reach, so we are petitioning for a space at McDonald House near by. We created this fund, with hopes to help relieve the financial component of making some of these decisions.
With heavy hearts we ask, if you are able, to contribute to this fund so that Charli and Mike can both grieve and get the counseling they need to move forward with Jack without the financial strain that is weighing on them currently.
