Theodore Jackson Dees was born on 6/3/21 at 29 weeks gestation. Theo was born with an esophageal birth defect where his esophagus didn’t connect to his stomach. He will be getting surgery in a couple of months to fix his issue. In the mean time, he has a feeding tube helping him get the nutrients he needs to get bigger for surgery and he is on a ventilator to help his lungs remain healthy because of his defect.
The nurses, doctors, and therapists at Advocate Christ Medical Center have been amazing so far, we couldn’t be more happy with his care. We know he is in good hands, but Theo has a long road ahead of him.
Steven and I have been with him every day and are staying at the Ronald McDonald House when not by his side. It has been very difficult for us to see our baby boy this way. Not being able to take him home with us is something we never thought we would go through.
One can never prepare for these situations in life, but we are grateful that our baby boy is fighting and progressing everyday. His journey in the NICU will be long and tough, but we know he will get through this with time.
All of our friends and family have been praying for him and we can’t be more appreciative.
We ask to help us with any amount you can. The donations received will be going towards baby Theo’s medical expenses and the Ronald Mcdonald Foundation.
Thank you for taking the time to read Theodore’s story and please send prayers and good vibes his way.
