Baby Sobeck

Greetings!  

My name is Michelle and I’m so excited to 
share this opportunity to give and bless a 
beautiful couple as they work towards 
bringing their baby girl home! I had something written up that explained a little about their
story and why they are adopting. But it’s not
my story to tell, so I asked them to share with everyone  what has led them to this place.  

"But if not, He is still good."

I've said these words over and over to myself
in the last few years. I don't really remember when I first heard them or read them but I've
tried to keep my heart set on those 7, simple
words.

Even in heartache and brokenness, He still
loves, He is still good, He will fulfill his
promises.

Our 11 years of marriage have held countless adventures. Some have been full of
excitement and joy while others have had
their share of difficulties and pain.

We've both always expected and wanted
children to be a part of our story. One thing we didn't know was that we would go years and
years without the pitter patter of little feet in our home.

Perhaps, unknown to us, the Lord has been
preparing our hearts for a special little lady
who would need a family to love her.
I feel deeply that all of our longing and
sadness and pain will be used and has been
used to make us who we are. To make us the
mama and daddy that our little girl will need.

In January of 2020 Rob and I decided we
would begin the process to enter foster care. We felt that we could no longer let our love go to waste and if we didn't have children of our
own to love, we wanted to open our hearts
and home to other children who needed
safety and love. We barely got started in the
fostering process when covid came along. This all but derailed our plans. Foster training was
completely shut down. We planned to work on classes as soon as they were available but
didn't really know when that would be.

Then one day I got a phone call I never
expected. "Hey! I have your baby!"

A young lady in our community found herself with an unexpected pregnancy and reached
out to my friend to see if she knew anyone
who would be willing to adopt the baby.
My friend knew right away that we were just
the ones.
And....That's where our adoption story starts.
I know God is doing something special. He
puts the lonely in families. He makes a way. He keeps his promises. He is still good.

This is not the beginning of our story and it's
not the end but we couldn't be happier to be
where we are.
