This is baby Ryker Todd Chase. He came a little too soon Saturday November 13. He is fighting for his life right now. Cord and Megan Chase are at the hospital with him.
The words of his father.
Hey guys, I don't post hardly ever, but I wanted to share this little guy with my friends and family. Many people have checked in and so I thought it might be easier to update everyone this way
Meet Ryker Todd Chase. He was born yesterday, Saturday November 13th, 2021.
He was born at 5:23 a.m. He was born 4 pounds 14 ounces and 17 3/4 inches long.
He's currently in the NICU, he's hooked up to a breathing machine and has a feeding tube in. He was born 5 weeks early and there has been some complications which is why he has the breathing machine and feeding tube. He can't breathe on his own. He's pretty strong physically, other than his lungs. They are currently checking to see if his lung issues are due to an infection or caused solely by the magnesium his mom was on for 5 days trying to give birth.
They first thought we could take him home this Saturday and even possibly Wednesday due to how strong he is. But due to his complications with his lungs, he will need to be in the NICU for a minimum of 2 weeks. Today he completely stopped breathing 4 different times.
I'm extremely happy Megan Chase pulled through safe and healthy. She was told last Saturday she had pre-eclampsia and that they would need to have the baby out early by 37 weeks. She went in for a doc visit Tuesday(3 days later) and was told that she needed to be transported by ambulance to Legacy Emanuel due to complications. The doctors thought she was going to need a C Section and that she had an extremely high risk of bleeding out due to the magnesium she was given for 5 days to do a standard delivery. So very grateful to Legacy Emanuel for taking care of her.
Megan and I are in good spirits that Ryker will be fine. We have tons of emotional support from friends and Family. So thank you to everyone for always being there. Thank you also to those who reached out personally or even just kept us in your prayers.

His parents have lost work due to Rykers unexpected early arrival. They are not leaving his side. Megan is still recovering from delivery as she had severe pre-eclampsia.
Cord, Megan, and Ryker need all the love and support right now. Hopefully Ryker can come home soon. But Cord and Megan will need help until then. Please help and share!
