Baby Reina
2020 has not only been a challenging year but has truly shown the true test of family, love and support from within. This same support our family asks of anyone near and far to help in any way feasible to ease the burden of heart breaking news. Two young parents out of Bristol Connecticut, Samantha and Justin, have recently been faced with heart tugging information no parents want to ever go through. 5 month old baby Reina, fraternal twin to her brother Kainan, has been battling her sweet but short life with cancer that seems to be spreading rapidly with no good answers thus far. In an effort to ease the expenses of unknown treatment and job loss ahead, we kindly ask for any financial help to aid this sweet baby girl and her family.
A little more about Reina and her diagnosis as of now - About 4 weeks ago, baby Reina had a concerning bump on the side of her eye, near her nose. The worst was never assumed as we thought it was just a clogged tear duct. However, as the bump seemed to grow larger and cause more discomfort, Mom brought her to get it checked at her pediatrician who referred her to an eye specialist immediately. Unfortunately this is when an MRI was ordered and nothing but fear set in thinking about the unknown. After an invasive biopsy of the bump on her eye, we received the distressing news that our baby girl in fact had cancer. As if it could not get any worse it was then reviled that there was cancer growing in her lungs, groin and ribs as well. At the moment we do not know what kind of cancer is invading Reina’s body, we patiently wait these results, soaking up all the precious moments we have with her as of now.
If you have the pleasure of knowing Sam, you would know she’s more than a super mom. Sam is a mom who chooses her kids every single time, no matter the circumstance. Mom and Dad have been faced with a true test of life and how fragile it really is.
In the midst of the unknown and with everything that is going on with Reina, there are 4 other children in the house 5 years of age and under. Kainan, Reina’s twin brother, will also need to be tested for precautionary purposes. We will continue to share as much information as we learn and find out ourselves. Anything helps, even a share! Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive this far, it will never be unnoticed.
Stay healthy, thank you everyone.
