Baby Pruitt homebirth.

Hello dear family, friends, and wonderful souls we have not met yet.. Big ask from y’all please.

After two amazing, transformative home birth experiences, our family is preparing for our newest addition in January 2023! We are so excited for this baby; Zion and Azayza can’t wait to have a new sibling.

In my pregnancies and birth, our family has had the gift not afforded to many Black women and Black parents in America, the agency to choose how to birth, where to birth, and who to have in the room. With Black women's maternal mortality rate three to four times higher than white women, we know how vital it is to ensure access to holistic, family-centered care. Feeling safe, heard, and supported in my last two births was such a beautiful experience; I feel fortunate that Johnathan and I got to have that for our family.

Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover the costs associated with home births and midwifery care here in CA. Having a home birth is what’s best for our family.

To honor the life-giving power of our growing Pruitt family, we ask for contributions to the birth/baby fund so that we can continue our practice of birthing freely, supported by the care we want and deserve.

This is not an easy ask from my Community, but it’s a necessary one.

Any amount you give goes toward our family living our liberation through the birth of our beautifully free Black children.
