Hi everyone,

With heavy but hopeful hearts, we're sharing that our second soon-to-arrive baby boy has been diagnosed with two congenital heart defects — D-transposition of the great arteries and a large ventricular septal defect (VSD). In short this means- this means that the arteries carrying blood from the heart are switched from their normal positions, and there is also a hole between the lower chambers of the heart. He'll need open-heart surgery shortly after birth, followed by a 1–2 month hospital stay.

This is an incredibly overwhelming time for our family. We're doing all we can to stay by his side, while also caring for our 1-year-old daughter, Sofia.
