Baby Mazarine’s NICU journey

Hi everyone!

This is Amelia (Noah and Anne are my auntie and uncle). As most have now heard, my new cousin Mazarine was born October 16th and she is beautiful and perfect. She was born a peanut at 5lbs 14oz, unfortunately she was also born with a rare condition called Pierre Robins sequence. This means that she has a small jaw and has trouble breathing and eating until it can be corrected.

So, I won’t be able to play with my new cousin for awhile because she gets to stay at a special place called the NICU. It’s in a big building named Riley’s Hospital that is just for kids and peanuts like Mazarine. She will have to have surgery as that it the best way to help her and then she will need to heal and get better before she can play and visit family and friends. Until then to continues to be on oxygen or CPAP and must stay on her tummy or side and be feed by a tubefeeding. She may also need another surgery at the 6-12 month mark. 

I want to help my new cousin and make sure she always has mommy and daddy by her side. I’m hoping you will be willing to help too. My mommy (Scarlet) and I are raising money to help ease the burden of the surgery and long NICU stay that is currently 3+ months.

Anne and Noah have enough to deal with, but the one thing we, as friends and family, can help with is financially.

Because Anne and Noah would never ask for help, we are doing this privately. If you would like to contribute, my mommy will be coordinating this and collecting donations. All contributions will then be given to Noah and Anne with a card stating from family and friends (So they cant give it back).
