Hi, my name is Mikayla. I set this fundraiser up to get some help for my family as we’ve been in the hospital since Thursday(9/7).

My fiancé, Reilly, has been working as much overtime as he can, but the bills continue to pile up without my income. It’s been very stressful for us.

Here’s a little back story about what’s been going on for the last 3 months.

At the end of June, Reilly and I went in for our anatomy scan to see our boy at 19 weeks and 5 days. They found out that I was 2cm dilated and leaking amniotic fluid. We almost lost our son. I ended up at Dartmouth to have an emergency surgery/procedure done to prevent premature delivery. I’ve been out of work due to this since because of restrictions like not being able to lift over 10lbs or stand for 2 consecutive hours. As many of you know, I’m an LNA and I need to be able to lift over 50lbs to do my job, and my employer was unwilling to give me light duty work. This has been a very hard time for me and my growing family. On Thursday(9/7), I went to the hospital in extreme pain. I’m currently at Dartmouth with lots of complications and it seems like my little man wants to enter this world sooner than we’d want. The procedure I had done, did its job for 11 weeks and I had to get the stitches out, because I was starting to dilate. We’re doing everything we can to keep our son inside longer. I’m due November 12th so it’s very important to keep him inside for as long as possible so I’ve been out of work for months now.

I know it’s tough times for everyone and this was the last thing I wanted to do but we’re drowning financially and really need some help. Unemployment and other programs have been unwilling to listen or give any assistance so this is our last option. Thank you so much.
