Baby Logan Nicholas & Family

Hi, this is Baby Logan Nicholas’ Great Auntie Angie.  I didn't know how to start off with the monetary but they need help, unexpected expenses, recent loss, baby's future, etc. You hear the stories or even the show “I can’t believe I was pregnant.” It happened to this family, our family but that’s just not the beginning.

My niece, Renee and her 12 yr old daughter, Sierra moved to Arizona about two yrs ago to be with Renee’s boyfriend, Nicholas “Nick” or “Nico” Angel Manzano, as that’s where he lived. All was going great for them as a family of 3. On Christmas Day, 12/25/2018. Nick fell ill and was hospitalized, we all thought it was just nothing but turned out he had a cancer and he didn’t know it. It was an unexpected illness to him and the whole family, his and hers. He had A.L.L - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We had hoped that the aggressive chemo treatments would cure him. Each minute, each hour and day was a challenge for Nick. He was so positive, strong and being so young at 39-40yrs old, he had his youth against this ugly cancer. He will beat this, we were all optimistic. Hoped, dreamed and we had faith in God, he will come out of this. Unfortunately, a week after Nick turned 40yrs old, he passed away on February 10, 2019. It was the most difficult decision his family had to make and I am thankful that his family included my niece in their decision making. There was no denying, Nick fought hard to the bitter end, he had the love of his life, Renee and her daughter, Sierra. Nick had so much support on his side, there was no denying. After his passing, we were all at a loss. Nick took care of my niece and her daughter. He always made a promise to take care of his girls and he would remind me not to worry Auntie Angie, I love them both and will always protect them. It’s so sad cause he’s not here and we know how much he loved his girls. They were his life, he lived for them and he found a purpose to enjoy life each day. Nick was such an awesome guy and I can go on & on about him, he really was.

On February 25, 2019, Renee calls me and tells “Auntie Angie, I’m not feeling well. I told her have someone take you to ER.” Nick’s younger brother, Jessy was available to drive her and Sierra went along too. Sierra calls me and tells me, “Mama G, they took a pregnancy test on my mom and it came out positive and they are taking her to labor & delivery?” Text communication with Jessy, “Renee is pregnant at 34wks, 6cm dilated, they are taking her to Emergency C-Section and she didn’t know she was pregnant.” I was in shock, we just saw them last week, she didn’t look pregnant but I kept asking her if she was okay because my niece is grieving, mourning, just got a new job a month ago. She’s been through so much in two months. I can only imagine the emotions she’s going through because our family has had its share of everything you can only fathom. An hour passes, my niece birthed Baby Logan Nicholas, being that there was no prenatal care, fortunately he came out with a healthy weight of 6lbs7oz and 19.25 inches long. As a family, we have cried, laughed and smiled also a sense of sadness because Baby Logan “Nico” will never know his Dad as he’s in heaven. He’s got a guardian angel watching over him, his mommy Renee and his sister, Sierra. To call this a miracle, yes but surely a blessing in disguise. Nick left a piece of his heart & soul in Baby Logan “Nico”. This unexpected miracle is where I’m asking for any help. My niece was planning and preparing for Nick’s services coming this month and now, she’s got a gift from God that she has to take care of, too. Usually I don’t ask for help but with this, I’m asking for the sake of my niece and her little family. It’s a lot of mixed bittersweet emotions but I know, she will be fine but for right now, it’s been difficult & hard. Can we help them, I hope so. I’ve gotten a lot hand me downs already for Baby Logan “Nico” and it will be delivered on the day of his dad’s funeral services on March 23, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona.

From the bottom of my heart and my niece, Renee thank you for all the love and support. God Bless you and yours!!
