As a little girl, I always envisioned being a mom. You never saw me anywhere without my baby dolls. When Kenny and I met and fell in love, neither of us would have thought we would have had an issue starting a family. After 5 years of trying on our own, we sought out help from Albany IVF and after tons of tests, the doctors didn’t know why I wasn’t getting pregnant and suggested we do an IUI procedure. We were very lucky to get pregnant with our amazing daughter, Adalynn on the second try. She is perfect and we are beyond blessed to have her in our lives.
We would love for her to have a sibling. March 2019, we were flabbergasted to find out I was pregnant with no medications or treatments! Sadly, that ended in a miscarriage the following month. This year, we started IUI treatments again. I was able to get pregnant on the first try and had a positive pregnancy test on March 15th. And we lost that baby in April. I got pregnant through another IUI in June. We unfortunately lost that baby as well. In addition to the heartache of the losses, due to covid, Kenny couldn’t even be in the room with me either time to be told there’s no baby.
Due to the fact that we are not sure why this is happening, our fertility specialist is highly recommending we try IVF with PGT-A testing so that each embryo can be tested for abnormalities before being implanted in my uterus. If we are able to do this, I have a 50% chance of getting pregnant with only a 10% chance of another loss.
Due to the fact that Kenny and myself have passed our genetic tests and are not carriers for any abnormalities, our insurance will not cover the cost of the embryo testing. There’s $3,500 standing in the way of us completing our family. Despite this we would love to try one more time to give Addie a sibling. We are in hopes that through this fundraiser we will be able to realize our dream of becoming a family of 4.
