We were excitingly expecting our 5th child, when our world came crashing down at a 30 week ultrasound.

Our sweet baby boy, named Krew Thomas, had some fluid gathered around his right lung. It was minimal, so we were instructed to do weekly ultrasounds to monitor the fluid.

Each week the fluid has been increasing. It is now pushing his heart to the side, increasing around his left lung, and collecting under his scalp.

We are under the care of Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis. Monday, we have a procedure in place to drain the fluid followed by a follow up ultrasound on Thursday to see if the fluid comes back. The doctors are certain the fluid will collect again. So Friday we have a procedure planned to place a chest shunt into him in utero for continuous drainage until he’s born.

They are trying to keep him in until 37 weeks (4 weeks to go) but there are high chances of preterm labor with these procedures. After he’s born, we are facing weeks to months in the NICU in Indianapolis.

We are already worried about keeping our heads above water with all of the travel expenses, food, housing, and taking care of our other 4 kiddos in the process.

Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated. But even more so, we would love prayers for our sweet boy. We pray he can grow and thrive and have minimal support needed when he’s born.
