Baby Kimmy - Heart Surgery & Down Syndrome Support

Our darling nephew, Emile 'Kimmy' Roberts, was born in Accra, Ghana, 8 months ago, and it took several months before he was diagnosed and confirmed with Down Syndrome. Right before the Christmas holidays, after months of being sick, stagnant organ growth, and a rapidly declining weight, his parents found out from local doctors that he had two holes in the wall of his baby heart!

Unfortunately, Ghana does not have the capability for the type of pediatric surgery that baby Kimmy needed urgently to repair the holes in his heart. The situation was made even worse with the rapid spike in COVID in many parts of the world where surgery could be available.

Fortunately, Apollo Children's Hospital in Chennai, India, was willing to take on the case. The Apollo doctors were concerned this may be a high-risk surgery given how late baby Kimmy was diagnosed.

On behalf of baby Kimmy and his parents, we humbly ask for your support; as you can imagine, the cost of surgery, pre/post-surgery expenses, medication, and general healthcare for a child with Down Syndrome over his early childhood, can be devastating.

Any support is welcomed, and we appreciate your prayers and well wishes as well. Many thanks, and God bless!
