IVF for Baby Jordan
Many of you do not know that Darrell and I have been struggling with infertility problems for a long time now. Over the years, this journey has been a rough one for us as we've watched so many others start their own families.
After 6 years of dating Darrell and I got married on March 10, 2012, and couldn't wait to start our own family. We tried on our own for two years with no luck. In 2014, I went through a series of tests and two rounds of Clomid, with still no luck. From there we experimented with lots of old wives’ tales to try and increase our fertility. We became discouraged, but stayed encouraged by family and friends that suggested, maybe it just wasn't our time. We decided to keep trying on our own and enjoy the time that God was giving us together. As time continued to past, we busied ourselves to keep our minds off the fact that we still had no baby.
In November of 2017 we went to see another fertility specialist who informed us that due to Darrell’s sickle cell, our chances of getting pregnant on our own were slim. He explained that sickle cell causes issues that affect the chances of conceiving a child in the traditional manner. He went on to say, that if we still wanted to make our dreams of having a baby come true, our only option would be In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
This has been a tough pill to swallow, especially due to the huge price tag of $15,000, that comes with trying to start our family. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any of this expense and we are left to come out of pocket for the procedure. We are praying that we will only have to do this once.
This is an unexpected expense and we are making sacrifices to come up with the money to help start our family. As hard as it is for us, we didn’t know what else to do but to ask for help. Anything you are able to contribute will help us make our dreams come true. If you are unable to contribute prayers and a SHARE are always welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your contribution.
