Katy and John delivered their beautiful baby boy James and beautiful baby girl Sofia on August 4th, 2020. Unfortunately at the precious age of 3 months old, James received a devastating diagnosis of Infantile Spasms.
Infantile spasms is a complex and rare disorder that can have very serious consequences! It can lead to death in some babies and cause severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities. The treatment to stop the seizures will be extremely painful for baby James, and emotionally painful for the family. Even once the seizures are gone, the damaging brain effects can remain.
