As many know, baby Henry was diagnosed with Hyperplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) when his mom Elly was still pregnant, shortly after his 20 week anatomy scan.
On June 10th, 2019 at 8:55pm Henry Ross Denzie was born in Cincinnati weighing 8lbs, 5.5 oz. He was quickly taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for treatment for his heart condition.

Henry bravely fought through his surgeries and treatments for nearly four months. On October 4th at 4:14 pm he peacefully passed away in mom and dad’s arms. His parents sent a piece of their hearts with him so his could finally be whole. 

Little Henry loved holding hands, head rubs, and most of all, snuggles with mom and dad. As his (un-biological) “Auntie” I will never forget the first time I saw him: wrapped up in his little crib bed, he was suddenly captivating. How such a little person could capture such a big piece of everyone’s hearts is astounding. Henry turned everyone he met into puddles of mush - especially his doting grandparents. Through his hardships, Henry was the sweetest baby I have ever met, and his warm snuggles were absolutely the best. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and met him. 

I have known Elly and Robert for quite some time now and I can say with certainty that Henry’s parents and grandparents are some of the kindest people I know. Elly and Robert are the most steadfast friends, and they are truly a couple to be admired both for their strength and resilience and also for their capacity for kindness and friendship.

Henry was a beautiful child who is loved fiercely by his parents Elly and Robert as well as the rest of his family. In lieu of flowers, I ask that you consider giving what you can to support the family during this difficult time.
