Melanie gave birth to Baby Hannah via emergency c-section at 30 weeks (6 months) along but Baby Hannah was only measuring 21 weeks (4 months) along.
She was born only 1.7 lbs and 12.5 inches long and is currently in the NICU at Lehigh Valley Children's Hospital in Allentown, PA.
Melanie suffered from gestational diabetes while pregnant and had Preclampsia.
However, the placenta deficiency and the Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) was never detected by the doctors. Had it been this could have been prevented.
Every day is a struggle! Baby Hannah will gain weight then lose weight.
Melanie and Charlie (mommy and daddy) live 2 1/2 hours away.
Melanie is currently staying at a hotel near the hospital to be near Baby Hannah but Charlie has to go back to work to be able to care for the financials of Baby Hannah's very expensive care.
Charlie comes to stay at the hospital with Melanie and Baby Hannah on the weekends but its getting expensive traveling.
They also have the expense of paying $50 a night for the hotel - plus food, parking, and other needed items like prescriptions and the never ending medical bills.
Most of the procedures to help keep Baby Hannah healthy are not covered under her current Insurance plan.
They shouldn't have to be worrying about finances in this difficult time, only their beautiful baby girl!
They could really use the support of as many as possible during this time!!
