They're not asking for money for medical bills for their 11 mo/old.. just some help to make sure mom and dad can be home during chemo for their infant son.

One of my oldest and best friends Joe and his amazing family have fallen on the very hardest of hardships...  the unthinkable...

Lauren & Joe Richards post from FB on Nov 2nd  2019 at 4:13pm

Lauren Michele Richards is feeling with Joe Richards @ John's Hopkins All Childrens Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL

I want to thank all of you for your unbelievable support during this difficult time. I know that’s kind of the ‘cliche’ thing to say, but it truly has made me realize how blessed we are to have the greatest friends and family.

We have now found out that Ezra’s leg injury was most likely related to his tumor. We don’t know in grave detail why, other then it is related. He also may have a fractured rib, which again, related to the tumor. So all in all, it was God’s round of about way to get him in here and checked out sooner then later. I’ll forever be grateful for Joe booking that doctors appointment.

Courtney ... thank you for coming and being with me all night... helping with Ezra, helping me as I was initially alone (Joe still out of town for work). You were my light last night while I navigated this storm. Staying up with me, asking questions, taking me to the store to get stuff to clean up today. You really are my lifesaver.

Melodie ... thank you for making the over hour drive to come and get my girls... in the middle of the night.... when they were all overly tired.... and crying. You always seem to come to the rescue. Being able to help out in this way, truly is our next door hero.

Joe ... for coming home. Being as supportive as you could from a distance. Sitting at the airport for over 5 hours, after a 2 hour drive, to get the first flight out. It’s times like these, it helps to be able to rely on one another.

John ... for sending me an amazing dinner to my room. Something about hospital food... well it’s awful. I’m pretty sure you ordered one of everything on the menu. Acts of kindness like this always seem to help shed some light into the darkness. Also, Ezra was pretty stoked about the dessert and ice cream!

To everyone else... you’ve either called, text, messaged me or us, shared our posts for prayer... from offering to help, sending prayers, and just being the support we could really use right now, thank you. We have a long road ahead, but I am confident we have an amazing team of doctors ready to rally for our baby boy. He is not in any pain and I know happiness is the best medicine... so we’re doing what we can to just try to keep it together to keep him happy as we battle this storm together.

Thank you all, again and keep the prayers coming. ❤️❤️❤️
