It’s been two months since Makenna has arrived and it’s been the craziest ride of my life thus far. There have been so many ups and downs and tears shed.
We were on the up and up, she was gaining weight (FINALLY) until she was diagnosed with NEC (again) and she will be on antibiotics for the next ten days. (With NEC they take away her feeds, so she now will lose all the progress she just made).
After her ten days they want to do a heart cath and proceed with her first open heart surgery which is a shunt (the shunt is to ensure she has proper blood flow to both the lungs and the stomach, right now her stomach isn’t getting enough blood so she isn’t digesting her food which is cause it a gut infection called NEC).
They have told us we won’t be going home for at least a few months. Maybe even after her second surgery which is called the GLENN procedure.
Times are hard. We have had so many people reach out, some who don’t personally knows us, and ask what they can do to help. We are so grateful for the prayers and thoughts.
If you are able to help with the expenses of living out of a hotel and losing an income and paying hospital bills we would be so grateful.
We love and appreciate you all so much.
I’ll will keep updates coming

Have a wonderful day.
