Baby DeRuyter Spina Bifida Support Fund
Our baby was diagnosed with spina bifida at our 20 week ultrasound. We have already met with countless specialists in Milwaukee and Chicago. Baby will need to have surgery to repair the opening in his back and we are planning to do fetal surgery at 26 weeks to optimize his recovery and long term effects. This will entail a lot of travel for mom and dad. Once surgery takes place we will be relocated for anywhere from 2-12 weeks or even more depending on recovery and if baby decides to make an early arrival or not. Due to COVID our 2 1/2 year old daughter will not be able to travel with us and will have to be cared for by family and friends.
Things will be really tight for us due to medicalbills, travel expenses, lodging, and loss of wages for an extended period of time. We appreciate every penny of help to support our family in this very difficult and long journey.
