Our story
We have been together for thirteen years and married for eleven. For the past eight years we have been on a journey to expand our family. We have dreamed about children throughout our marriage while patiently waiting for a timing that we clearly couldn’t control. One of the ways we have maintained our faith is by seeing miraculous situations happening around us. However, the miracles were happening to everyone around us, except us.
The last few years have been the hardest. During that time, we have gone through seasons of fertility tests, natural alternatives, and of course much prayer. If you’ve gone through fertility issues, you know that not only is it mentally and physically fatiguing, but also financially exhausting. We would literally spend years going all in with our pursuit, and then months of breaks from the stress, only to do it all again. Unfortunately, we have been challenged with producing children naturally.
We couldn’t imagine what our lives would be like if we weren’t blessed with the opportunity to co-parent our godson, Nolan. He was the start of us discovering that we could fully love a child that we didn’t conceive. We’ve been a part of his life from the age of one years old. Throughout the 12 years of his life, we’ve developed a bond that can never be broken, but we still have the desire to have our own.
We have always talked about adopting, believing that we would be saving a child while also adding to our family. It wasn’t in our plans to adopt before conceiving; however, the timeline of adoption became more apparent to us when we considered that our heart to have a child wasn’t isolated to our own desires. We are passionate about loving, caring for, and saving a child with the opportunity that God placed before us.
A young mother of two is currently 3 months pregnant with her third child and feels unable to provide the necessary care for another child. She was overwhelmed and felt like abortion was her only option. As she approached the abortion clinic, she could hear the prayers of her grandmother in her ears and the prayers of those literally standing outside of the clinic. The gruesome details from the doctor telling her what happens during the abortion process along with moms walking out, hunched over after their procedure, sealed the deal for her to leave. One sleepless night she called her grandmother and asked her if a specific friend and her husband would be willing to adopt the baby. Her grandmother thought that it was a great idea and said that she would ask. We are that couple.
Here we are, ready to adopt this miracle baby, and we need your help. With your contribution, no matter how small or large, you are playing a foundational role in writing our story. We believe that after all the waiting and stressing, our story will begin a beautiful new chapter. Thank you in advance for being a part of our journey.
· We need to reach our goal of $10,000 as soon as possible, however a minimum of $5,000 is required to start the attorney process.
· Our deadline to start the attorney process is June 5, 2021. We will start earlier if we reach $5,000 sooner than our deadline.
· We will continue to accept contributions after June 5th and any additional donations above $10,000. Attorney fees and additional costs can exceed our $10,000 goal. Unfortunately, adoptions don't have a set cost due to factors that may require more legal alternatives to secure the adoption.
· We are working directly with an adoption attorney, social worker, and the birth mom.
· This process is considerably less expensive than going through most adoption agencies, where the cost can be upwards of $30,000.
