Megan and Anthony Jenkin's journey to pregnancy was achieved after four years of infertility, leading them to IVF, In Vitro Fertilization. They learned in January that they are expecting a son, whom they named Cooper William. Sadly, at Megan's 20 week follow up ultrasound, they received the devastating news that Cooper is afflicted with CDH, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. CDH is a birth defect characterized by a hole in the diaphragm that allows abdominal organs to ascend and migrate to the chest cavity hindering proper lung development. It is a severe life-threatening pathology in infants, which requires intensive prenatal care and monitoring and post-birth surgery/recovery.

Through Megan's research and CDH support groups, she was led to Dr. Kays, a leading and renowned world expert at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL for treatment for this birth anomaly. They are currently in the midst of coordinating medical treatment plans with both teams in Ohio and Florida. Megan has been forced to resign from her job to coordinate intensive prenatal care. She will relocate to Florida at her 34 week stage of pregnancy and is scheduled to deliver Cooper at the end of June or first week of July. In the interim, she and Anthony face many weekly appointments/procedures and travel to medical facilities before relocation occurs, only to be followed with many more appointments in Florida until the birthing date.

Anthony will travel to Florida a few days before Cooper's birthdate and surgery. Cooper's hospitalization in Florida is an unknown, due to his recovery time. Given the weight of unexpected financial burdens, such as, travel, lodging, pet care, more medical expenses, etc., we have set up this Go Fund Me page to assist them. For those of you who know Megan and Anthony, they are both genuinely kind and good human beings that never imagined to be in this current situation. We ask for prayers to result in them bringing Baby Cooper home, a healed and healthy baby boy with a bright and wonderful future.
