By now, many of you may know that in March of 2021 Savannah and I were hit with some very unexpected news. While taking the proper steps towards building our family, Savannah was diagnosed with cervical cancer. As a result, she had to have a radical hysterectomy which caused her to lose her uterus but luckily was able to keep her ovaries and become cancer free. What this means is with the most shattered heart I have to say, Savannah can’t carry our children. However, with that ability to keep her ovaries, we can still use her eggs! Which brings me here….
I, Justine, with great pride plan on carrying all of our babies, but I know that my wife needs a win. I want to give her that curly red headed baby made with her very own egg. While we thought we had plenty of time to prepare for this moment, but of course the wrenches keep coming. Due to bad genetics, Savannah is going through early menopause. The doctor has informed us that we only have a few months to harvest her eggs if we want to have the opportunity to save any that she may have left. We were quoted an insane amount that we were absolutely not expecting and, knowing the other information, have had little time to better plan for. However, we know we will figure it out one way or another which has brought me to this. As many of you know, I’m in the military and unfortunately they do not cover any of the cost for IVF or really anything to do with fertility. Everything for IVF and this process of building our family and making Sav’s dream come true, will have to be out of pocket. We had a plan to save up but now that our time was cut from years to a few months, we are in a scramble. So with that said, I ask of friends, family, strangers that stumble upon our story, help us make that little red headed nugget. Help me get Savannah a win. Help us build our family and our dream. We thank you all dearly from the bottom of our hearts in advance and I look forward to sharing more of our journey with y’all. It makes my heart so happy knowing that so many people will take part in making our dreams come true.
This will also be where we will be accepting gifts for our wedding instead of having a registry.
