Hi! We are Heather and Wesley Taplin. We met in 2009, married in 2013, and started planning to expand our family shortly thereafter. After 6 months of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant, we sought out medical interventions in the form of IVF. We went through 5 rounds in 4 years and we were blessed with our beautiful baby girl in 2017.
We continued with our IVF attempts for another 2 years, trying to have our baby boy, but just recently exhausted our remaining 5 embryos. The medical field and insurance companies tell us that we are finished, but we both agree that we are not done fighting yet.
We both sat down, weighed our options and talked about what adoption means to us. We both wholeheartedly agree, we have already created a life and now our purpose is to save a life. It would be an absolute blessing for us to be able to adopt a baby boy. We have so much love to give and having a child has changed our lives for the better. It would be our honor to nurture and raise another. We have always envisioned ourselves as a family of four, and we aren’t going to let anything stand in our way when it comes to completing our family, but we need your help! 10 rounds of IVF came with a lofty price tag, and adoption seems to be right around the same cost. My father passed away in 2018, just less than two weeks after his granddaughter’s 1st birthday. This baby would be his namesake as well as the one to carry on the Taplin name.
