This site has been created for my daughter, her husband, and their precious baby boy.

Madeline is in the third trimester of pregnancy. She and Jeremy received news that their baby boy, Matthias, has Trisomy 18 with multiple, complex heart defects. This is a life-limiting condition, and only 5-10% of babies with this syndrome survive until their first birthday. Babies with this condition typically spend time in the NICU and, if they are eventually able to go home, require round-the-clock medical care.

Madeline and Jeremy are heartbroken at their son’s prognosis, but also grateful and blessed that God has chosen them to love and cherish this child, created in His image.

We don’t know exactly how this journey is going to look, but we do know this young family is going to need our prayers, love and support. We know that God is sovereign in all situations and that He has a plan for Matthias’s life and His glory.

This site was created in response to friends and family asking how they could help. Prayer is the most important way to help. Another practical way for people to help and encourage Jeremy and Madeline is to give toward end-of-life expenses and other medical and related expenses that Madeline and Jeremy will face as they walk this road. This includes memory-making and memorializing as well as grief-processing.
