Hey friends,

We are Brent and Nicole Amick, our love story began in middle school when we attended our eighth grade dance together. Through many years of friendship, our love grew deeper. After attending our senior prom together and graduating from high school, we both went out into the world in pursuit of our dreams, always knowing that our hearts would forever be at home with one another. On Memorial Day weekend in 2016, surrounded by our families at the lake, Brent got down on one knee and asked me to share forever with him. One year later, on a perfect spring day, in the presence of our amazing family and friends, we said “I do,” and officially started our life together as husband and wife. The early days of our marriage were magical and carefree, and after two years of wedded bliss, we decided that we were ready to start a family of our own. After four years of trying and many failed fertility treatments, we were beginning to lose hope. As I (Nicole) was getting ready to start another year of teaching middle school, I contracted a very severe case of Covid-19, and spent many months fighting for my life in intensive care. After a lengthy recovery, we were even more determined to start a family. We knew that my survival was proof that we had the fortitude to continue fighting for a family of our own. We started the adoption process and have spent the last several months learning all of its intricacies. This journey is unique and quite expensive. It can cost nearly $35,000 to adopt a child, so we are reaching out to you for help. They say it takes a village, and we have been incredibly fortunate to have an amazing support system. As we continue this journey toward parenthood, we covet your prayers and support. We cannot wait to have a baby of our own and love and appreciate you all for everything you’ve continued to do for us.
