BAA Johnson Playground Fundraiser

The Boxford Athletic Association is helping raise funds for the Johnson Playground Renovation prior to the 2024 Boxford Town Meeting in May.

The Johnson Playground Renovation will replace all the existing playground equipment with new safe and accessible equipment at it's current location adjacent to Boxford Police Station and Boxford Town Hall. The updated playground will be a great resource to all Boxford families accessing the Johnson and Chadwick ballfields as well as the Boxford Town Hall and Boxford Town Library.

At the upcoming Town of Boxford Annual Meeting on Tuesday May 14th, Article 15 (see below) on the Town Warrant is for the Johnson Playground renovation. The majority of the project cost ($330k), if passed, will be funded by CPA (Community Preservation Act) Funding but we are trying to raise $20k+ in additional funding to complete the project, as well as provide additional amenities to the playground (benches, picnic tables etc).

Private funding needs to be complete by Monday May 6th so that funds designated to Johnson Playground Renovation are received by the Town of Boxford before May 9th.

Promises or pledges made before or at Town Meeting do not constitute actual donations on deposit.

In the event that the warrant article is not approved, the BAA would return all donated funds collected for the Johnson Playground Renovation.

Boxford Town Meeting May 14th 2024

ARTICLE 15. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate $330,000 from the Undesignated Community Preservation Fund balance to fund the creation of a new playground to replace the existing playground at Johnson Field located at 7A Spofford Road for recreation purposes; with additional funds to be provided by the Johnson Playground Renovation Fund for a total project cost of $350,000, said funds to be expended under the direction of the Town Administrator and Permanent Building Committee in consultation with the Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action thereon.
