Brazil Missions Trip
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
During this last year, with the cost of living constantly increasing, people in economically turbulent countries are facing instability and poverty at extremely high rates.
One of these countries, Brazil, has a population of at least 32 Million children (63% of all the children and adolescents in the country) living in poverty.
This year, I have received the opportunity to travel to Brazil to partake in a humanitarian trip.
During this trip, we will be involved with an Irish Non-Profit Organisation, going to remote parts of the country and providing healthcare and supplies to those who need them the most. We will be traveling along with healthcare professionals who volunteered to reach those in need. During our time there, we will actively participate in community projects aimed at making a difference. This will involve tasks such as renovating sections of an orphanage, as well as partnering with Brazilian non-profit organisations like 'Missão Pescadores' to extend our assistance to remote communities in need.
I am extremely excited to be there to impact the lives of those who need it the most! I will be covering the cost of my own flights and accommodation - but with your generosity, we will be able to use the funds to contribute towards acquiring any necessities that children and adults in the Brazilian communities might need.
The trip will take place from the 12th of August to the 21st of August, we have provided a list of the activities we will be involved in:
- Community Building and Infrastructure Development:
Constructing or renovating schools, orphanages, community centers, or other essential infrastructure.
- Education Support:
Teaching and tutoring children, organising educational workshops, and providing school supplies.
- Cultural Exchange and Awareness:
Engaging with local communities to understand their culture, customs, and traditions while also promoting cultural exchange.
- Community Outreach and Advocacy:
Collaborating with local organisations and leaders to address community needs, raise awareness about social issues, and advocate for change.
I can't wait to see what's in store for this journey, and I hope you will join me in making a difference.
Thank you so much,
Ruthie
