Help with Immigration

My name is Margaret Heath. I am a transgender woman who left Texas after enduring physical assault, death threats and active persecution. I have found a new home in Canada with my wife Emily and my daughter Leia. In many ways my life has been very difficult lately with all this change but nothing makes me happier than my family and I don’t regret any part of my journey.
I’ve started the process of permanent residence in Canada and the legal expenses from that and other essentials have consumed all the financial resources I have. My saint of a wife is pouring every dime she makes into supporting us on her own because I cannot legally work in my new country until I’ve received a general work permit. I’ve done everything I can to raise money while still strictly obeying Canadian immigration and labor laws. I’ve tried to pull out my teacher retirement fund in order to pay all these legal fees but it may take a long time before I can ever access that money due to anti trans sentiment and legal bureaucratic loopholes. We’ve struggled to make essential bills, such as our mortgage payment, because of my unemployment. I want to work, I want to help support my wife and daughter, I want to contribute to my home and my society, but I need help to do that.
I need to raise money to process my general work permit through my immigration lawyer. This is the only way I can guarantee that I’ll be able to attain gainful employment and help support my household. It’s important we get this done as soon as we can, my wife can’t support us by herself forever and the strain on her has been terrible. Please help me to take care of my girls! Anything you can contribute won’t just help me, it will help my family and I cannot thank you enough for that.
