Hello,

I don’t like asking for help and I don’t usually do this…like ever I always found it embarrassing posting on the internet about our private lives but now I seem desperate.

I am raising funds for my mom. She is a beautiful, hardworking woman and deserves a home. Our whole lives, we never had a home. My dad used to proudly say to us “we do not deserve a better home” it would break our hearts. We always lived in apartments and small townhomes. We were a family of 7 and my dad wasn’t financially stable..ever. My mom worked odd jobs her whole life starting from the age of 21 and now is she 48 years old. It has been a disheartening journey for her. My father rarely ever gave her money for our expenses. If he did she would have to fight tooth and nail and it would end up with them constantly arguing.

The reason why I share this story today is she has been in an emotional abusive relationship her entire life. She was and has been miserable in her one-sided marriage. Not only did he gaslight her but he disrespected her, demeaned her, and made fun of her in front of his friends/family. Growing up, I made it my business to talk back to him and give him a shut up call for the all the mean, disrespectful things he said to her.

My mother is in a pretty awful situation. She just takes the emotional abuse from my dad, has panic attacks, and tries to play the role of the peacemaker. The thing is my dad only wants to cause problems in the house it’s in his nature. He provokes my older sister, my mom, my younger sister, my 18 year old brother, and my 12 year old brother sometimes too. It’s a very unhealthy environment that my younger siblings are in right now. Since, I was older my sister and I recognized how toxic my dad was for my mom. He always humiliated us, made fun of us, made us feel so small.

I am asking funds to help me build a better future for my mom and siblings. I have managed to scrounge up 5k but still need a little help since we are still short for a down-payment on a house. My sister just completed her nursing degree and is knee-in-debt so she can only contribute a little bit right now too but she has always brought groceries/furniture for the house ever since she got a job at 17.

The funds will be used toward purchasing a house for my mother and siblings who can finally have some mental peace.

Please do not applaud me if you think I am doing a noble thing for my family. I am doing what every daughter would do for her mother and family. They are very special to me. Thank you for listening and sharing.
