A cardiac arrest is when someone’s heart stops beating. A defibrillator can help restore normal heart rhythm after cardiac arrest whilst you’re waiting for the emergency services to arrive.
Fewer than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Chances of survival decrease by up to 10% for every minute that passes without medical help. Every second matters.
Our cabinets are secured with a key code and are only accessible by dialling 999, they will provide you with the means to unlock the defibrillator cabinet. By having access to a defibrillator 24 hours a day, the community, residents, and visitors are living within a heart-safe environment. Having accessible defibrillators in our community can increase a casualty's chance of survival from 6% to 74%.
The Farsley defibrillators are fully funded by donations from local businesses and the community. If you feel you're able to help and support the fund it would be very much appreciated.
