Hello friends and neighbors of B61 and Alma!
You may think that we all just sit around and wait to entertain and serve you when you show up, but the truth is that we do this job because you entertain us too. We couldn’t do this job without you, and we wouldn’t do it without you. Like, we really miss your faces.
We really love you and miss you!
In this time of worry, we’ve been trying to think of ways we can help everyone in our community. But with the current restrictions in place, traditional fundraisers and fun group gatherings are just impossible. The unfortunate reality is that we just can’t be together right now.
At B61 and Alma, the nachos, tacos, pints, and too-strong margaritas we all love are brought to you by 24 servers, dishwashers, cooks, and bartenders, all of whom are now unemployed. Most of us rely on Alma and B61 as our primary sources of income, and for the first time in our lives, we are unable to work in the industry we love, or even at all.
Our goal over the next month is to raise $1000 per person to help begin to cover the fundamental costs of living for these 24 people. If you’re working from home and you miss the food, drink, and laughter we all associate with the corner of Columbia and DeGraw, please consider making a donation to the cause. And we promise, we will be back behind the bar and ready to party again as soon as we’re allowed!
