Help Us Support James

Hello, my name is Siobhan O’Connor, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother James.

Seven months ago, James was diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disease (NMD). Since then, life has changed dramatically for him and his wife Sharon. As the condition progresses, everyday tasks have become increasingly difficult, and their home is no longer suitable for his needs.

Right now, James has no shower facilities at all. One of the most urgent priorities is to install a wet room so he can maintain basic hygiene and dignity. We’re also working to make other essential modifications to the house to ensure it’s safe and accessible.

We’ve secured a builder, temporary accommodation, and had professional plans drawn up based on an Occupational Therapist’s recommendations. We’ve also applied for a grant, but sadly, the funding falls far short of what’s needed.

Despite working all his life, James now faces a system that doesn’t provide the support he truly deserves. It’s heart breaking, but we’re determined to make this happen for him.
