Lend a helping hand!
Now a day’s, the world is undergoing an unprecedented and unimaginable situation. Clovid-19 has come to turn the world upside down in a way none of us could have imagined.
This illness, has paralyzed the entire world. Even the world’s super power countries (like the US, Canada, UK, France) are suffering due to the stay-at-home measures instituted to help contain the spread of this virus. Not to mention, Guatemala, my beautiful country; underdeveloped but striving to stay afloat.
Like in other countries, a huge number of hard working people have lost their jobs due to the current situation and so has their ability to earn income. Therefore the ability to put food on the table has become harder with each passing day.
Our government is trying its best to keep our people healthy and provide economic relief to the most needy. However, it is falling short in its cause.
Today, I went out to buy groceries for the next few days. A few blocks down I noticed a young man, 23-25 years old, holding a sign that read,
NEED HELP!
Lost my job. Can't find a job. Have food.
My children are hungry.
I ask for work. I ask for food.
(His name is Miguel; he has a 2 and a 4 year old.)
I feel extremely grateful with God. I am fortunate. I am healthy, work and am able to feed my children. That is why, when I see a brother human being ASKING for help, WHOLEHEARTEDLY, I cannot just be a spectator. Even though the fear of the virus tries to paralyze me a bit.
Several years ago I learned that ...."We are not here to save the world, but we are here to touch the hands and hearts of those close to us." (K. Price)
I am good at two things: technology and serving others.
The first thing that came to mind was...I will start a campaign to raise funds. If God permits, it will work to collect funds so we may distribute the funds to those who are in direct need.
First: we will buy food from local producers and in local (mom and dad) shops, to help them with their businesses.
Second: We will distribute food bags with: 2 lbs. beans, 2 lbs. rice, 5 lbs, corn, 1 bottle of oil, 2 bags Incaparina, 2 bags oatmeal). It is not much, but it will surely help appease the hunger for a day or two for as many people as we possibly can help.
My name is Edwin. Surely you may not now me and have no reason, whatsoever, to trust in this endeavor to help others. The only warranty I can give you is that 100% of the funds raised will be used for its intended purpose. In other words, simply put, ”I am a God fearing man; son of Our Father”.

!Una mano de ayuda!
Hoy el mundo está pasando una situación inesperada e inexplicable. El COVID-19 ha venido a sacudirnos de una manera que nunca nos hubiéramos imaginado.
La enfermedad ha paralizado a casi todos los países del mundo. Incluso las economías de los países desarrollados están sufriendo debido al encierro obligatorio. En mi bello país, Guatemala, la situación está aún más complicada. Un país donde el comercio informal supera el 70%.
Muchísimas personas no tienen ingresos porque han tenido que cerrar sus pequeños negocios, o están perdiendo sus trabajos. Llevar el pan diario a sus mesas se está volviendo cada vez más difícil, y literalmente imposible.
Nuestro gobierno (a diferencia de gobiernos pasados) está haciendo el mejor esfuerzo por mantener a la población saludable, e intentando apoyar económicamente a los más necesitados. Sin embargo, la tarea no es fácil, y no se esta dando a basto.
Hoy salí a comprar la comida para los siguientes días. A pocas cuadras observé a un joven llamado Miguel, de 23 -25 años, con su esposa y dos hijos pequeños (2 y 4 años).
Tenía un rótulo que decía:
NECESITO AYUDA!
Perdí mi trabajo. No consigo trabajo. No tengo comida.
Mis hijos tienen hambre.
Le pido un trabajo. Le pido un poco de comida.
Yo me siento sumamente agradecido con Dios. Soy afortunado. Tengo salud, trabajo y alimento para mis hijos. Por eso, al ver a un hermano PIDIENDO ayuda a GRITOS, no me puedo quedar sin hacer nada por ayudar. Aunque el “miedo” a la situación me intente paralizar un poco.
Hace algunos años aprendí que “No estamos acá para salvar al mundo, pero si estamos acá para tocar las manos y los corazones de los que tenemos cerca.” (K. Price)
Soy bueno en dos cosas: la tecnología y servir a los demás.
Por eso haré una campaña para recolectar fondos. Si Dios lo quiere, funcionara para recolectar dinero. Ese dinero se distribuirá en forma de bolsas de comida con las personas que lo necesiten. Miguel y su familia ya recibió una!
Primero: compraremos los insumos con productores locales y en comercios locales. Con esto ayudaremos esos negocios y sus familia.
Segundo: distribuiremos bolsas de comida (2 lbs de fríjol, 2 lbs de arroz, 5 lbs de maíz, 1 botella de aceite, 2 bolsas de Incaparina, 2 bolsas de mosh). No es mucho, pero seguro será de ayuda; y un día o dos sin pasar hambre para muchos.
Soy Edwin. Seguramente usted no me conoce, y no hay razón alguna para que confíen en mi en este proyecto de ayuda a otros. La única garantía que puedo darle de que todo el dinero se utilizara al 100%, y de buena manera, es decirle que “soy un hijo temeroso de Dios Padre”.
Que Dios le bendiga, le de salud y multiplique su ayuda. Si no puede aportar económicamente, nos ayuda mucho solo con compartir esta campaña con otros.
