“War Took Everything — Help Us Hold On”

Hello, My name is Mohammed Miqdad, and I am from Gaza, Palestine. I had been living outside Gaza for work due to the repeated wars, but when the war broke out on October 7, I returned to stand by my family during these difficult times, hoping to help them escape to safety. Unfortunately, all the exit points out of Gaza have since closed, and now we are trapped here, facing unimaginable suffering.
I lost my job because I couldn’t leave Gaza, and we have lost everything we worked so hard for. Our family – eight members, including my parents – once lived a beautiful life alongside my brother Khaled’s family of five. Since October, our lives have been filled with fear, pain, and displacement.
The bombing is relentless. We live in constant terror, never knowing if we’ll survive the night. Our home was destroyed, forcing us to flee with only a few belongings. We’ve moved from southern Gaza to central Gaza, then to Khan Yunis, and now to Deir al-Balah, where we live in a tent with no basic necessities like clean water, food, or electricity. Every day, we fear we’ll be displaced again, with nowhere left to go.
Adding to our grief, I recently lost my beloved brother during this war. His death has left a deep wound in our hearts, and our pain is unimaginable.
My family’s health situation makes our struggles even harder:
• My mother has cancer and needs constant treatment.
• My father suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes. Their medications are scarce and expensive, and their health continues to deteriorate.
Despite the horrors we face, I do everything I can to care for my family. But now, we need your urgent help to survive and rebuild our lives. Your support can give us a chance to escape this nightmare, find safety, and secure medical care for my parents.
Please consider donating to our fundraiser and sharing it with your friends, family, and anyone who can help. Even if you can’t donate, sharing our story can make a huge difference.
Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. We will never forget your support during these desperate times.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Mohammed Miqdad
